Wooden Sign: Fresh Vegetables

Fresh Vegetables Wooden Sign
At this time of harvest galore I thought it would be appropriate to celebrate the abundance of fresh produce we have been blessed with....

I've been itching for a "Produce" or "Vegetables" sign for a few years now, and since I have been unsuccessful in finding a vintage one, I decided to make my own....
I think it turned out pretty cute....

Kinda vintage looking, right...????

I am hoping this sign will influence me subconsciously to make lotsa green smoothies for the family and also provide more fresh produce in our everyday menus.

Could work, right?

If I am constantly accompanied by this sign in the kitchen.....?

Do you think it will.....?

Have a great week!
Crystelle

Oh I think it can work! And if it doesn't at least it looks beautiful {and people can think you eat them more}!

I love how truly vintage this looks! Did you paint and then sand it all back?

Hi Deborah!
It was super easy: I just painted dry-brush style, then added the letters and sanded a bit off. The key is that really weather wood....

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

I think this is perfect! Even if you don't eat vegetables as much as you would like I'm sure a sign like this will fool guests into thinking you do. =0)

I Love Love Love your sign. I, too, have been looking for an affordable one and just might have to make my own. Would you mind if I asked what transfer method your used?

Hi Jeannie,
It was easy to make: I took an old weather board, painted it white (dry-brush style). Added the lettering, dipping the paintbrush alternately in black and brown paint. Then I sanded a bit.
Added some vinegar solution (I just keep a container with vinegar on hand with steelwool in it). That's it. Sorry I didn't talk about it in the post. Thanks for your interest and stopping by....
