With Christmas coming up, it is time to make some fun bags for your girlfriends,  sisters, and moms (yes, that includes mom-in-law), maybe even your daughters...  (Isn't it fun when little girls grow big...????)
So I thought this would be a great time to post another free purse pattern:  this time it is the Ronda Handbag sewing pattern.

The Ronda Handbag was featured in Haute Handbags Magazine, Spring 2010 issue.

Super Cute Pockets on the side: handy too!
I love the Ronda Handbag so much!
When I carry it around it surprises me how super convenient it is!

I love the pockets on the side.  So easy to get to!  Even my husband can now find my keys!

The front and back are simple, but so fun when you use a specialty fabric with a fun print or so....
The sides have those handy dandy pockets right below a playful tie....
So adorable...

And inside:  more pockets, even one with a zipper!

And the straps are long enough that you can go shopping hands-free!  So convenient........
Just hang that purse over your shoulder, and walk around the store.  No worries about keeping track of your cart and where your purse might be....
Love it....

Potato Sack Edition of the Ronda Handbag
I used to sell this sewing pattern on Etsy, and this is what one customer said:

"Yahoo! What a fun purse to make and your directions were so concise and easy to follow. I'd never done a zipper pocket and loved it! My bag is adorable even if I do say so!! Thanks again to your creative pattern and potato sack! My sack says Penny Pincher and thanks to your good prices for your pattern and sack, I'm happy to say I am! Your company is great! I know I will be referring friends to you as soon as they see my new purse!"

What a sweetheart.....

Vintage October Poster
October's "Bright Blue Weather"
~ A Good Time to Read!

A wonderful vintage poster from the Library of Congress, dated back somewhere to the 1940-1950's.

I love reading on chilly nights, curled up on the couch with a warm blanket.  Better yet:  reading with my kids on that same couch!

So during this month of October, grab the vintage poster download, a book, and a warm blanket and enjoy!

The free download is at the bottom of this post.  It does not contain the Crystelle Boutique trademark.

October Vintage Poster
I took a board, just kinda eyeballed the size of it, cut it off, painted it black.  Sanded the edges.  Added a piece of burlap to the front with some Mod Podge.  Then adhered the print to the front.  Adding upholstery tacks to the corners finishes it off.
Ta-da!

October IS kind of a good time to read......
Scary stories......!

September - Back to work, back to school, back to BOOKS
September is quite an adjustment for me and most other moms around the globe as we have to get use to the kids being gone all day, only to arrive home tired accompanied by piles of homework and other activities... Phew.....

Gone are the lazy days of summer....
September is quite a shock to the system!

But the weather is quite lovely I must say!
Mild...
Sunny...
Not too hot...

At least, that's how it is here where we live...

:-)
I love it...

Might be my favorite month.... {weather-wise anyway...}

Picture
making my own little 8x8 September collage
To celebrate September and the back to school craze, I printed of a Library of Congress poster dating back to the 1940-50's.
I just LOVE vintage posters and ads....
This Particular one reads something like this at the bottom:
Made by Illinois WBA{?} Art Project Chicago
{I am not sure what that middle word it...  Perhaps one of you bloggy readers can read it better than I can....???}

Picture
September - Back to School Mixed Media Art
I printed my poster kind of smallish size, so I could make my own little mixed media 'art,'using the poster, a vintage flashcard, paint, vintage stamps, and lots of Mod Podge.
I love Mod Podge......

Picture
I had a lot of fun coming up with some extra details
Of course, you could save yourself a LOT of time if you just printed it off, and then popped it into a frame....
Imagine that...!  Instant decor.....

Your printable version of this vintage September poster is a free download at the bottom of this post.

How are you adjusting to September?

PictureRachel Handbag - Free purse sewing pattern - Crystelle Boutique
Time to make another sewing pattern available to all of you sewing seamstresses out there.
September is a great month to pull out that sewing machine and get to creating....

The Rachel Handbag is super cute and convenient too...!

It was my best-selling pattern when I still had my Etsy shop... {in my former life... lol!}
I love the pockets on the front to keep my life somewhat more organized...
Knotted handle attached to rings for fun.

PictureFree purse sewing pattern from Crystelle Boutique
The Rachel Handbag was featured in Haute Handbags Magazine, Fall 2009

At that time sewing with burlap was a 'new' concept and the article kept my email inbox jam-packed full...!!!  It was a pleasant surprise...  :-)

Since then everyone and their dog has started using burlap, but I must say it is STILL fun and cute and all that good stuff!

The launch of the Melissa Handbag pattern took place in October of 2009 when Haute Handbags Magazine published a fabulous article named "Haute Potato" on CrystelleBoutique potato sack purse.  I was so delighted at the time, and honored that they did such a fabulous three page spread on my patterns.  And I could not believe the amount of emails I received afterward....!!!
